Javea rises from the ashes.

Talented sculptor Miguel Angel Miguel Garcia is giving burnt tree trunks a new lease of life carving them in to Birds of Prey, Woodpeckers, Giraffes and all sorts of wonderful creatures.

The area of Pinosol Park suffered badly from the fires last September and this is precisely where Miguel Angel started his magic.

He first convinced the Authorites to not cut down a selection of the burnt tree stumps and as a result left him with him with 20 charred stumps on to which he would carve his creations.  On his first day of work he created a stunning Woodpecker and ever since he has added to the menagerie.

Next time you’re in the area of Pinosol stop and have a look at these wonderful sculptors and try to guess what the next animal will be.
